Cowboy Festival Steak Fry

Book a Cowboy Festival Trail Ride
Posted on September 15, 2024Take a 45-minute trail ride ($50) at the Empire Ranch Cowboy Festival. Rides are available on both November 2 & 3, First ride of the day is at 10:30 am.; last ride is at 3:15 pm. Riders must be age 8 or older; a parent/guardian must ride with children under 18 years of age.

A Star is Born

National Day of the Cowboy

Filming of Red River
Posted on June 11, 2024When the Boice family owned the Empire Ranch many Western movies were filmed at the ranch and nearby areas. One of the most iconic is Red River (1948) directed by Howard Hawks and starring John Wayne, Montgomery Clift, Joanne Dru, and Walter Brennan. Location work began in early September of 1946 and was projected to take about eight weeks.
