Each July the Empire Ranch Foundation celebrates the National Day of the Cowboy at the historic Empire Ranch. It’s a free, fun family event. See below for information about the 2019 event.
COVID permitting, we plan to celebrate National Day of the Cowboy on Saturday, July 24, 2021. Stay tuned for the event status and program. The 2019 program posted below provides information on the type of activities usually included.
Presentations in the Adobe Haybarn:

Demonstrations in the South Corral [all day]:
Visit the All Around Trail Horses petting zoo east of the Ranch House corrals. Take a trail ride starting at 9:00 (45-minute ride/$30). Riders must be age 8 or older.
Docent Tours at 10, 11, and 12–meet at the Visitor Contact Station
Silent Auction & Raffle in the Ranch House, Victorian Addition Dining Room, from 9 am to 12:30 pm
Enjoy great grub from the EZ Cattle Company Cow Camp Café and Chuckwagon—lunch served starting at 11:30. $10 a plate of carne asada, beans, Mexican corn and a tortilla.
